Forres House Out of School Club carer, Margaret McInnes, was presented with a framed certificate, flowers and local restaurant vouchers by community learning and development worker, Amy Cruickshank, and Moray councillor and former Forres House youth worker, Lorna Creswell.

“It was nice to be recognised,” said Margaret.

“It’s not often these days that you can work for the same company for that length of time.

“I’ve enjoyed looking after so many kids, meeting and being able to provide childcare for their parents.”

She added: “It doesn’t seem like 20 years that I’ve worked here though I’ve seen parents with kids here that I remember coming as children!

“It’s a strange feeling to see them coming back!

She addec: “It’s been particularly nice to see children with special needs coming here and improving their social skills.”

Councillor Creswell said she was happy to see Margaret’s dedication and hard work being rewarded.

“Margaret has supported so many parents by caring for their children, accommodating early morning shift workers and beyond the school day,” she said.

“Her loyalty and dedication has never wavered so I sincerely hope the council will retain her for another 20 years!”

The Out of School Club will be available at the Town Hall until July 4.

Margaret is hoping to be redeployed by Moray Council but will have to work somewhere else when the club closes permanently on that date.

“Thanks to Margaret for twenty years of hard work,” said Ms Cruickshank.

“Also for her enthusiasm and positivity through what has been a difficult time.”
