An man has been jailed for attacking two men in a Culloden house earlier this year.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told today that Charles Maclennan had received a threatening phone on May 17.
The following night the 37-year-old went to the house in Galloway Drive.
He found the two men he believed had made the threats sleeping in the living room.
"The red mist descended and he lost the plot," said defence lawyer Gordon Nicol.
Maclennan punched his first victim several times as he lay asleep.
He then unleashed a flurry of punches to the face of his second victim.
MacLennan followed the man into the kitchen where more punches were inflicted, leaving his victim covered in blood.
He then attacked the man a third time after he'd fled back into the living room
When Maclennan was arrested by police a short time later, he boasted: "I made a good job of them, didn't I?"
He then told the officers he knew their faces and would find them when they were off duty.
Sheriff Iain Cruickshank stated Maclennan had a "horrendous record of previous convictions, including numerous assaults".
Maclennan, whose address was given as Inverness Sheriff Court, admitted two charges of assaults and another of threatening behaviour.
He was sentenced to 18 months in jail, backdated to May 18.
