Forres garden centre Mackenzie and Cruickshank one of many businesses broken into across the north of Scotland overnight

A SPATE of break-ins has hit the north of Scotland overnight, with Mackenzie and Cruickshank garden centre in Forres affected.
Mackenzie and Cruickshank was both broken into last night, with police investigating today.
The store was closed this morning – but reopened at 1.30pm.
A social media post said: "Unfortunately, Mackenzie and Cruickshank will be unable to open following a break-in to the premises overnight.
"Police are currently here investigating. We will update you as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience at this time."
Harbro Country Store in Elgin was also broken into overnight, along with Black Isle Brewing and Cromarty-based Egg Box Shop.
Posting on social media, Harbro Country Stores said: "Our Elgin store is currently closed due to a break in last night and will remain closed until the police have finished their investigations (possibly all day).
"Apologies for any inconvenience caused."
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
