A SCHOOLGIRL from Forres has been named as Little Miss Sparkle Junior Miss Scotland 2019.

Applegrove Primary pupil, Violet-Rose Haggan (6), won the title, a tiara and sash at the beauty pageant in the Murray Owen Centre at East Kilbride near Glasgow.

She said: "I had such a great time, I loved every minute of it and I can't wait for the next one!"

The organisers explained that the event looks for inwardly and outwardly beautiful girls that are "talented, charitable, elegant, successful, ambitious and genuine".

As such, there are no sizing, weight or height restrictions, or ethnic boundaries.

Proud mum Samantha McNeil confirmed Violet-Rose was asked to walk in front of the judges in different rounds, while being herself.

She was also asked questions that would reveal her prize-winning personality.

Samantha said: "It was such a great experience, she made loads of friends and it was great for her confidence. It really is great fun for the kids - they all were so happy and having a blast together.

"Everyone looked so beautiful in their pretty dresses."

She added: "Violet-Rose is over the moon about her title and wouldn’t take her tiara off at breakfast the next day!"
