Airline passengers travelling from the Highlands to the Netherlands were facing disruption on Thursday afternoon after a KLM flight was cancelled.

The planned 12.35pm flight between Inverness Airport and Amsterdam was scrapped shortly before 2pm, after earlier being listed as “delayed”.

This followed the late arrival of an earlier inbound flight from Amsterdam, which had been due to arrive at midday, but landed at around 12.17pm.

A planned 2.55pm departure for Gatwick was also showing as "delayed" at the time of writing.

The cause of the KLM flight cancellation was not immediately known, and KLM’s later 5.20pm departure from Inverness was still showing as “on time” on the Inverness Airport website at the time of writing.
