Having released singles and an album, The Conundrocity from Kinloss are ready to play live to an audience
‘WHO are you? Who, who, who, who?’
Who are The Conundrocity?
The anonymous band from Kinloss are El Tecato on guitars, growls and programming, Sir Garlond on keyboards, samples and clean vocals, and Valhallus on custom percussion - have already released singles and an album, with another LP in the works.
Spokesperson, El Tecato, started the band with Valhallus in 2021 under the name ‘Skullified’.
He said: “We're three teens with the will to make our music thrive.
“We started with the simple idea of making silly music with serious instrumentals, while having breakfast.
“Eventually, I met Sir Garlond and asked him if he wanted to join as the keyboardist. He considered it for a while, but eventually said yes.”
The band describe their music as “a strange mix between Slipknot, Duran Duran, and Mr Bungle”.
“It’s whatever we feel,” said El Tecato, “however we think. It can be silly. It can be incredibly emotional. It all depends on how we feel on the day.”
The Conundrocity’s music is recorded in a small shed in El Tecato’s back garden, and refined on a computer.
“The neighbours don't really like us,” he/she said. “We’re recording the next album in the same shed and it's going pretty well.
“I've decided to dial into my inner thoughts to create something absolutely raw and wonderful. Still with my usual humour, though.”
The Conundrocity have not played live for an audience yet but are looking for small venues in the area to perform.
El Tecato finished: “In three years time, we want to be playing in venues across the UK. Preferably with two more members but sometimes a trio is the best selection you can get.
“We do not have an end goal other than to make music for fun.”
