Indoor leisure services in Moray will reopen on April 26

MORAY Council’s indoor leisure services will re-open on Monday, April 26.
Keith sports and community centre; Buckie swimming pool and fitness centre; Speyside sports and community centre; Milne’s High School fitness suite; Elgin High sports block; Elgin community centre; Forres House community centre; Forres swimming pool and fitness centre and Lossiemouth sports and community centre will all welcome customers back then.
Moray Leisure Centre (MLC) is also set to re-open the same day.
Lossiemouth sport and leisure facilities will re-open within the new community and High School campus; signage has been installed to direct visitors.
Activities available are: swimming; swimming lessons (partial programme); family swim sessions; fun swim sessions; fitness rooms; weight rooms; active schools sessions; sports development sessions; non-contact small group activities eg recreational badminton (max of 4 people from 2 households); climbing wall; outdoor exercise classes (MLC only). It’s expected that group exercise classes can resume from 17 May.
Capacity levels remain capped, and booking for activities is essential for Test & Protect purposes. Booking can be made online or by phoning the leisure facility you wish to attend. Bookings are being taken from April 19. Bookings for Active Schools sessions are being taken from 5pm today (April 12) on the Active Schools platform.
Those with FitLife? memberships who pay by direct debit will have their payments reinstated, with the first payment taken from the start of May. There’s no charge for these customers to attend between April 26–30 April, but FitLife cards should be used to swipe into the facility. Those who pay annually will have their membership extended for the number of days remaining on it as at 26 December, or for the duration of the closure, whichever is fewer. Pay as you go customers can book and pay online as normal.
Moray Council’s Sports and Leisure Manager, Ken Brown, said staff are looking forward to welcoming back customers.
“As always, we’re upholding a strict cleaning regime and we’re asking customers to follow guidance and signage within our buildings to keep everyone safe. We’ve all been waiting a long time to enjoy our leisure facilities again, and we expect to be very busy.
“Please turn up and leave on time to help us with capacity and time for cleaning, and remember you should only attend if you’ve a valid booking.”
