A HISTORIC tourist attraction has been transformed into an Elf Academy, complete with Father Christmas.

Brodie Castle has been taken over by Santa's elves preparing for Christmas Day, with over 230 adult and 170 child recruits lending a hand.

The Academy is running each weekend up until the big day and every weekend is fully booked, however, families can still visit the castle and take part in arts and crafts activities.

Children who signed up for the elf training are taken on a tour of the castle and get to meet Mrs Claus who helps them make yuletide name badges. The recruits then learn about being an elf in all areas of life, before graduating with a special certificate.

Families also proudly capture a momento by taking photos in Santa’s sleigh, which is parked outside.

Operations manager James Dean said: "The Elf Academy has been a huge success. We are very grateful to the drama students from UHI Moray College and to Team Brodie staff who have worked so hard to give the families the very best Christmas experience to treasure forever!"

"Events like this help our charity to protect Brodie Castle and Scotland’s other special places."

He added: "We have had excellent feedback from families. We are delighted with the Elf Academy and look forward to more great events into next year."
