A BAND based in Mundole aims to rock the world with their hot new single.

'Hellbound' is the fifth release in a year from heavy rockers Bad Actress, who include the MacFarlane brothers from Forres - Struan (18) aka Chick, Lewis (16) aka Lui, and Ross McFarlane (20) aka Vinnie Vexx - as well as Thomas Bell (23) aka Tommy B from Culloden, and Gareth Mair (31) aka Bobbin from Portknockie.

Chick said: "Hellbound is rock 'n' roll rebellion! It tells the story of being held back and pinned down ... before breaking out to rock! It relates to the idea of blowing off steam and rocking out when you start to feel a little ... hellbound!"

The single was recorded across the band members' home studios during before Chic mixed and mastered it.

"We gave it a real anthem feel," he said, "perfect for a live setting."

November's single, 'Outta My Head', followed 'Highspeed Heartbreak' and 'Mamma Ain’t Talkin', released last April and July.

"Outta My Head' went down brilliantly," said Chic. "It had a rougher sound and more grit than some of the stuff we've released.

"Our last single - in January - 'No Vacancies In Hell' had a similar punchy, crunchy style. Both songs received airplay on shows around the world which was absolutely incredible."

Bad Actress signed to management company, Forge Ahead Initiative, in November and are working on a second EP. They have also started working with PR and videography company Plug, Promote & Play.

Chic said: "Forge are incredible. They have helped us to stay motivated during lockdown. They have the right contacts, the right ideas and most importantly, the same vision as us for moving our career forward.

"We’ve also been working on new music, releases and content."

The group has also been planning shows that they hope will be allowed to go ahead this year.

"Chic finished: "Not playing live has been tough but we've been really productive.

"We learned to get creative with remote recording, new ways of keeping folk engaged and keeping the Bad Actress community active. We'll hold onto these skills for when live music makes its return.

"We can’t wait to get back to the stage!"
