Wester Hardmuir Fruit Farm sets up catacombs cryptic trail for Halloween
A local business has a spooktacular way of encouraging folk to help bring in a harvest.
Hardmuir Farm attendees can creep through “ancient catacombs” from 9am-5pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend on their way to picking their own pumpkins for Halloween on Thursday, October 31.
Owner, Will Downie, confirmed berry ice cream, hot food and drinks, face painting and magic teacups will also keep visitors entertained.
He said: “This is an event for all the family. There’s no booking required - just come along and enjoy a spooky day at the farm!”
Will’s family bought the business to diversify their existing farm which neighbours Wester Hardmuir.
“We both have a very keen interest in agriculture,” explained Will. “Also, supply of high quality farm to fork produce, so this was the perfect opportunity!
“With the strawberry season around the corner in Spring, taking over was a steep learning curve. However, with a great team of staff who’s knowledge, expertise and dedication is something to be admired, we all made it!
“The support we’ve had from customers has been fantastic and we would like to thank everyone who supports us.”
The farm shop is open from 9am-5pm all-year-round.
