Groups come together through Moray Pathways to spotlight employment support

DOZENS of organisations are coming together to shout about help to boost employment in Moray.

Thanks to local employability partnership Moray Pathways, a 12-page booklet is landing on every doormat in the region with information to help everyone.

They are reaching out to every business and household in the region to highlight the services they offer in a single information resource.

With one side aimed at businesses, and the other speaking to those who want to expand their personal employability, the partnership hopes to have every angle covered.

Individuals looking to develop their skills, or get into learning, training or work can find out about mentoring, apprenticeships, higher education, career advice and jobs.

Meanwhile businesses can find out about funding support, business advice, events and networking as well as how they can access local initiatives that support job creation in the region.

Moray Pathways includes public sector and education providers, as well as business organisations and third sector groups.

Skills Development Scotland and Moray College are signposting ways to develop the skills of the workforce, while Business Gateway, the local Chamber of Commerce and DYW Moray are highlighting how they can support companies with their resources and networks.

With Mentoring Young Talent, the Inkwell and TSI Moray also featuring in the booklet, it shows a wide spectrum of organisations that are out there to help.

As well as providing information, the partnership aims to highlight how the many different agencies are collaborating to boost the region’s success.

Amy Cruickshank, the Employability Lead of Moray Council said: “We know that we have a strong base of support available through the Moray Pathways partnership, and we want to make everyone knows what is out there and how they can access it.”

Sarah Barnes, Programme Manager of DYW Moray commented: “We are targeting both individuals and businesses, because they are two sides of the same coin.

"We need a dynamic environment of thriving businesses, and we also need a skilled workforce that can drive prosperity and success in the region."

Jane Munro, Employer and Partnership Manager at DWP, added “DWP are delighted to be part of this initiative supporting individuals and local businesses to gain an understanding of what is available in the local area.

"The booklet is packed with information and inspiration and is being delivered to over 48,000 households and businesses in Moray later this month, and we sincerely hope that everyone will find something of value inside it.”
