Jean Bridgeford from Forres announces grandson Christopher Smith from Ellon has graduated from Napier University, Edinburgh with a 1st Class Honours BSc in Real Estate Planning

A WELL-known early years educator from Forres is proud to announce her grandson's graduation from university.

Jean Bridgeford (85) formerly of Strathcona Road, now resident at Cathay Care Home, enjoys showing off her grandson Christopher Smith's graduation pictures to staff and residents.

Jean, who ran the first playgroup established in the town in the early 1970s - Nursery Playmates Playgroup at the town hall - has dementia but her many pictures of Christopher through the years on her wall in her room at Cathay help make her days happy.

Christopher graduated from Napier University, Edinburgh with a 1st Class Honours BSc in Real Estate Planning.

He was also award the University Medal for the highest marks in his field.

His parents Alyson and Dave Smith live in Udny Green, near Ellon.

Christopher is presently working for Savills in Edinburgh on a months internship while being given a break from his job at Pizza Express where he is a trainer and on his way to becoming a manager.
