ATTENDEES of the the first free sports tasters at Forres House Community Centre have been bowled over by them.

Active Minds Moray (AMM) have organised seven indoor bowling, quoites and skittles sessions played on green bowling carpets to encourage older people to play and socialise with new faces.

An AMM spokeswoman said: "They are free sessions for older adults wishing to keep fit and mobile, and meet new people.

"They're friendly, fun sessions with like-minded people and you can treat yourself to coffee or lunch afterwards at the community café."

The remaining sessions are on Thursday, January 23 and 30 and February 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 11am-12.30pm.

One attendee at the first last Thursday told the Gazette: "It's been nice to try something new today. I'm not very good at it but with a bit of practice I'll get used to the pace and the weight of the ball.

"I liked trying the other games too. Everyone has been very friendly - it's good to chat to new people."
