Free wealth management seminar at Ramnee Hotel, Forres
A FINANCIAL advisor is offering free information about wealth management.
Lees Wealth Management, a senior partner practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management based in Forres and Elgin, is holding two client events in the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, March 4 at the Ramnee Hotel to showcase the firm's personalised, holistic service.
Business owner, Andy Lees, will be discussing intergenerational wealth.
He explained: "The economy has been kind to those born in the years immediately after the Second World War, and in the 1950s, but less so to other generations, especially those born in the 1980's and 1990's, many of whom find it harder to get jobs and to gain a footing on the property ladder. Consequently, many parents support their children financially well into their adult lives. Meanwhile, our parents are typically living longer, leading to an increase in the need for residential and nursing care financed from accumulated savings, the sale of property, or with support from close relatives.
"Instead of each generation making their own arrangements, families are starting to consider how to use their combined resources in the best, most tax-efficient way to benefit all members. We provide expert advice and the solutions that enable families to support each other across the generations. Whether you would like to help your children on to the housing ladder, contribute to a grandchild’s education or wedding, or help your parents with later-life planning, careful consideration can ensure your wealth works harder for all your family without putting your own security and retirement at risk."
Mr Lees talk will be followed by a presentation on sustainable and ethical investments by guest speaker, Peter Roper, an investment manager with Rowan Dartington.
He said: "For the past couple of decades, the fund management industry has been developing an ever-increasing range of funds that aim to benefit from the growth of environmental markets. There are opportunities for investing into companies developing solutions to address significant economic, demographic and environmental challenges including: increasing lifespans; rising living standards; pressure on natural resources; and increasing regulation to combat climate change.
"Fundamentally, responsible investing is not only about social responsibility, it makes investment sense. As custodians of your wealth, it’s our role to act in your long term interests and respond to the world and to the marketplace as they change. Responsible investing is part of this commitment."
