A LOCAL band is set to rock the town again after nearly two years on the road.

Bad Actress play The Eagle on Friday, September 24 - their first hometown show in nearly two years.

The performance was originally scheduled for August 6 but had to be postponed after lead guitarist, Chick McFarlane of Mundole, took ill with appendicitis while touring in England.

Drummer Lui Q (17), Chick’s younger brother, said: "We’ve been really lucky since things started opening up again and have played quite a lot of shows.

"We’re really looking forward to playing in Forres again, it’s been way too long. The last time we played there was in December 2019 and it was an awesome night. It’s going to be even better this time."

Forres brothers Lui Q, Chick and vocalist Vinnie Vexx make up Bad Actress with Tommy B of Inverness on rhythm guitar and Alexi Rennie of Muir of Ord on bass.

The band have played a string of shows in England and Scotland since covid restrictions started to lift in June; the most recent being an Aberdeen event at The Tunnels on September, 10.

At the end of August they played Bathgate, where they triumphed in the Stormbreakers competition to win a main stage slot at the annual Winterstorm rock festival in Troon in November.

Earlier shows include Windermere, Chesterfield, Sheffield and Nottingham.

Other dates lined up this year include Inverness Monsterfest Club on November 11 and a support slot for Marco Mendoza (formerly of Whitesnake, Black Star Riders and The Dead Daisies) in Bathgate on November 28.

They are also booked to play festivals next year including Rockin’ the Bowl (Sheffiled), RockWitch (Norwich) and Hard Rock Hell sleaze festival (Sheffield).

Ticket information is on the band’s website at badactress.net.
