Forres dog hunt joy
A DOG hunt that has gripped Forres for two days has ended with the runaway pooch being found alive and well.
Xander, a 10-month-old Eurasier, ran away from his home in Thornhill early on Monday morning and was spotted at various places around town in the following 48 hours.
His owners, retired couple Davy and Edith Bell, were worried they might never see him again. They had only taken delivery of him on Sunday afternoon.
Son-in-law Chris Saunderson led the efforts to find Xander, working around the clock with more than a dozen volunteers from throughout Forres, who were alerted to the hunt after they saw a plea for help on the ‘Gazette’ Facebook page.
“It’s was like an SAS operation,” said a battered and weary Chris, who was extremely thankful for all the support he received. “There was a really great community spirit.”
Full story of the dramatic dog hunt will appear in the next issue of the ‘Gazette’.
