Footage shows moment Forres house was engulfed by fire before Scottish Fire and Rescue crews extinguished blaze

Footage captured by a neighbour appears to show the moment a large fire engulfed a detached home in Moray earlier this week.

The property, at Brodie Place in Forres, was gutted by a fire which broke out shortly before 1pm on Wednesday, June 4.

Video footage submitted to the Forres Gazette shows smoke pouring out of the property before fire crews arrived at the scene.

Six fire appliances were mobilised and the blaze was eventually extinguished but pictures taken while crews were still there show extensive damage to the property.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.54pm on Wednesday, June 4, to reports of a fire affecting a domestic property on Brodie Place in Forres.
