A NEW trail to encourage folk to get out and about, and enjoy one of Forres’ most prominent landmarks, has been created.
Following the success of its Halloween and Christmas walks, Forres Heritage Trust (FHT) has ‘planted’ a Spring Time Stroll Trail which will encourage people to search for pictures while enjoying Cluny Hill, Nelson’s Tower and Grant Park.
The trail has been put together by trustees Ainsley James and Sandra MacIver.
Ainsley said: “We had such great feedback from the last trails, we decided to do one for the Easter holidays.
“It will be live from Friday, March 26 and there will be eight pictures of daffodils to search for and follow. Even if you’ve done the previous walks you’ll find this trail will lead you on a different route up to the tower.”
Nelson’s Tower usually opens to the public at the start of April to September, but due to the pandemic it has remained shut since 2019.
Sandra said: “There are still stunning views over the Moray Firth from the top of Cluny Hill.”
FHT is working on other events it would usually support, including a hi-tec summer walk which takes in its historic sites and a number of other landmark locations.
