ELGIN Youth Development Group has announced it will be running a virtual summer programme for Moray pupils starting secondary school in August.

New S1 pupils across the area will be able to participate in The Warehouse@EYC’s virtual summer programme, which includes an array of free activities including fitness and cooking classes.

In previous years, P7s have been invited to visit the group's building on Francis Place and take part in their very own transition programme which focused on meeting the team, making friends and growing confidence before moving into S1.

Pupils would then join the group’s main membership during the summer period.

Since lockdown, the team at ELDG have been unable to run the programme as usual and have moved it online. This has been very successful and the team are eager to ensure the new S1s are not missing out.

Carol MacLennan, youth team manager at EYDG, said: "We look forward to welcoming all our new members and I can't wait to hear their ideas for the project, no matter how crazy!

"Our summer programme is packed with fun things to do as well as opportunities to get to know the youth team and make new friends."

The Warehouse@EYC Virtual Summer Programme will be available to all members aged between 11 and 18 and will be hosted through the Virtual Warehouse Facebook group and Zoom with links to the Facebook group located on the group's social media pages.

Members can also request individual support by contacting the youth team.

For more information about these sessions and to receive a membership form visit the group's website at www.elginyouthcafe.org or email: youthwork@elginyouthcafe.org with your name and address.
