Elgin’s Pancake Place reveals its ultimate recipe

Elgin’s Pancake Place takes us on a journey from flour and eggs to their indulgent White Chocolate and Caramel Shortcake pancakes.

Watch below:

Amy Pinwel, has been working at the eatery for almost a year-and-a-half and is an expert on all things pancake.

She said: “On Pancake Day we serve a lot more pancakes than on any other day. We get a lot more customers coming in.”

On toppings, banana is the garnish of choice, with customers opting for a fruity finish on their pancakes.

Amy said: “People order bananas with absolutely everything. They’ll get a pancake that doesn’t even have a banana but still order bananas as an extra.

“Also Nutella, we go through an absolute ton of nutella, a lot of marshmallows as well.”

Other popular toppings include toffee sauce and a less extravagant butter and jam.

Amy’s favourite pancake to make is the Chocolate Indulgence.

“I love Chocolate Indulgence, the brownie in the pancake is my favourite.

“It’s a simple pancake but it is very delicious and very easy to make.”

The Pancake Place is open from 9am to 5pm this Pancake Day.
