Playing the lead role is Callum McLeod who, before each performance, will spend two-and-a-half hours in make-up, transforming into an angry green-skinned ogre, with the aid of specially-made prosthetics.

A drama teacher at Elgin Academy, Callum says the whole cast and crew are now looking forward to the opening night after eight months of dedicated hard work and rehearsals.

He added: “It’s been a big commitment for everyone - two nights a week plus, more recently, all day each Sunday.

“But it’s also been a lot of fun. We really hope that feeling is transferred to the audience. We think it will be.”
