VOTERS will get the chance to quiz Moray Council election candidates at the Forres Town Hall hustings.

Forres Area Forum (FAF) has organised the event so people have the chance to hear directly from Ward 8 candidates Scott Lawrence (SNP), Kathleen Robertson (Conservative), Paul McBain (Conservative), James Hynam (Labour), Shaun Moat (Independent) and Draeyk van der Horn (Green) about local issues.

FAF secretary Tina Coffey confirmed it will take place on Monday, April 25 in the main hall from 6.30pm.

She said: “Each candidate will make a short statement then respond to questions from the audience. We hope as many people as possible attend.”

FAF chairwoman Sandra Maclennan said the group ran a successful hustings before the 2017 election and hopes the 2022 event will prove equally insightful, adding: “The hustings will give residents an opportunity to hear the views of those they do not know and help voters to make informed choices.”

Email forresareaforum@btinternet.com for details. Alastair Kennedy, chairman of Moray’s Joint Community Council will chair the event.
