The Eat Out To Help Out scheme is starting on Monday, August 3.

THE UK government's Eat Out To Help Out scheme is coming into effect next week.

Many places in the Forres area are taking part in the scheme, which will see sit-in customers get 50 per cent off food and drink, up to a total of £10 per person, on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Monday, August 3, will be the first day customers can take advantage of the offer, which will run throughout August.

The Forres eateries taking part are: The Ramnee Hotel, Forres Golf Club, Cluny Bank Hotel, Cafe 1496, Knockomie Hotel, Mackenzie and Cruickshank, The Red Lion (The Beastie) and the Mosset Tavern.

In Findhorn, The Kimberley Inn, The Crown and Anchor and The Captain's Table are all taking part.

Brodie Countryfare is also taking part, along with Alves-based Calum's Kitchen.

More restaurants may sign up before Monday.

You don’t need a voucher to use the scheme and you can use it at the same time as other offers and discounts. There is no minimum spend.

Alcoholic drinks and service charges are excluded from the offer.

You can check a full list of places within two miles of your postcode (or any postcode) taking part in the scheme at https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/eat-out-to-help-out/find-a-restaurant.
