JOBSEEKERS in Moray considering a career in the security industry are being given the opportunity to get a step ahead of the competition thanks to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).

Security course places are up for grabs with the DWP.

The DWP are running a rolling series of courses aimed at customers who would like to get their Security Industry Authority (SIA) badge door supervisor qualification.

The course is primarily for security guarding, which covers retail security, site security, manned guarding, and also covers door supervisor as a module. The physical intervention training must be undertaken for door supervisors.

There will be an element of face to face training and also online/virtual training.

These sessions are part of a wider range of courses being delivered by the DWP and their partners to support customers in gaining relevant certification to help them towards employment.

Anyone interested in taking part should speak to their work coach.
