A96 crash in Moray between Stagecoach bus and NHS Highland van sees wall smashed
An eyewitness has captured the dramatic moments after a Stagecoach bus smashed into a wall outside his home.
Footage from Harrison Davies’ video doorbell shows him running from his front door towards the crashed bus as the dust settles.
Images show a drystone wall beside the A96 completely destroyed after the bus ploughed into it.
Mr Davies said police, fire and ambulance services all attended the incident, which happened at around 1pm today.
He reported that around 17 passengers were aboard the bus at the time, with all having been safely removed.
However, Mr Davies said the drivers of both the bus and the NHS van had been taken to hospital.
A further two people had been described as “walking wounded”, he added, with one requiring hospital care.
The road has been closed between Forres and Elgin, at the Newton turnoff as a result of the crash.
Westbound traffic was diverted down the B9013 towards Burghead, with eastbound traffic told to take the B9011 towards Kinloss at the Findhorn Roundabout.
Mr Davies said a “major” cleanup operation is currently underway on the road.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that four fire engines were sent to the scene of a crash between a bus and van.
“Several casualties have been taken into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service,” the spokesperson added.
“Crews remain at the scene.”
A Scottish Ambulance spokesperson added: “We received a call at 12.56pm to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A96.
“We dispatched three ambulances and a paramedic response unit (PRU) to the scene.
“We transported three patients to Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin.”
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
