A woman has been charged after her dog caused a rider to be thrown from her horse in Forres.

The police described the dog as being "dangerously" out of control.

A force police spokesperson said: "A control notice has been issued by the local dog warden and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

"Thankfully, the rider was not seriously injured, but we would like to highlight the risks should dogs not be kept under control in public places."

No details have been given about when the incident took place or its exact location.
