A HISTORIC Victoria Road business is under new ownership.

The Ramnee Hotel has been bought from its owners of 32 years, the Dinnes family, by SC Hospitality Group, who aim to breathe new life into the building which was originally built as a private residence in 1907.

A spokesperson for the group said: "We saw the Ramnee’s potential due to its strong links with the town. We’ve already introduced larger spirit measures and an excellent menu for the community to enjoy."

SC Hospitality are modernising, streamlining the hotel's booking, feedback and food and drink ordering processes smart technology, while retaining its history and charm.

The experienced hotel group aims to position the Ramnee not only as an overnight destination, but as a go-to for food, drinks, entertainment and events, particularly weddings, as they identify its potential to fill a gap in the market.

SC Hospitality will also establish the Ramnee in the wedding venue market, as they aim to capitalise on its Edwardian décor and surroundings.

The group was helped by the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Relationship manager, Michelle Anderson, said: "SC Hospitality has seen a great opportunity which has the potential to increase visitors to Forres. The latest upgrades and investment will ensure the Ramnee becomes a premier destination venue."
