Forres Academy school reunion at Mosset Tavern being organised by Maclean’s Highland Bakery boss
A well known local businessman is co-organising a school reunion with a suitable 70’s and 80’s theme.
Maclean’s Highland Bakery managing director, Lewis Maclean, hopes as many former pupils as possible who started at Forres Academy in 1977 attend the Mosset Tavern from 3pm on Saturday June 7 for drinks, raffles, photos, a three course Highland meal, music from Dave Levon and pupils, and a disco.
He said: “There’s a few of us organising our reunion as most of us will be turning 60 this year. It will have a ‘day fever’ theme, so it’s kicking off early!
“We‘ve planned events to make the weekend extra special, especially for those who make the effort to comeback to Forres.”
He added: “In our year at Forres Academy, we were blessed with pupils who’ve made a living as professional musicians so we’ll have a jamming session to keep the troops entertained!
“We’ll also show some videos from former pupils who can’t make it on the night.”
Lewis and friends last organised a successful school reunion ten years ago.
“We had approximately 70 people in 2015,” said Lewis. “It was a great night with former classmates coming from all across the UK and Europe.
“This year, we have a some travelling from the USA and Australia. Our most famous classmate is BBC journalist Aileen Clarke who we see more regularly on Reporting Scotland!”
The cost will be £50. Call Lewis on 07712136199 for more information.
