A COUPLE celebrating their Golden wedding anniversary donated nearly £3000 to two Moray charities.
Mike and Lena Scott asked family and friends attending the event at the High Street Masonic Lodge to make donations to Cedarwood Community Day Centre and Birchview Respite Service in Elgin as a thank you for the help they have given their son Michael over the last 40 years.
Lena said: "Michael has been going to them since he was seven-years-old. We very much appreciate them both."
Cedarwood is a day service for adults with learning disabilities with a range of activity rooms and sensory-stimulated suites as well as a cafe area. It provides opportunities to expand and enhance existing skills and develop new ones.
Birchview provides short breaks and respite to adults with learning disabilities, as well as carers.
Mike and Lena wanted to repay some of the kindness their family has been shown by both over the years using the funds raised from their special night.
"The party at the lodge was brilliant," added Lena. "The Dunphail Dance Band provided the music and the food was by Chimes. Everyone had fun."
