A96 Amey improvement works between Forres and Elgin get underway

Footway improvement works on the A96 West Road towards Elgin are underway with disruption expected to last nearly a month.

Daytime temporary traffic lights will be in place between 9.30am and 3.30pm on weekdays until the work is completed on May 16.

The essential maintenance, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will involve resurfacing of the footway to provide improved accessibility for pedestrians on the approach to Elgin.

Initial wok was completed in October last year with phase two of the project beginning today, April 21.

It will take place approximately 350 metres west of Morriston Road to Riverside Kitchens.
