Three community councils in Moray have now attracted enough members to be viable.

Following the closure of nominations in September, three council areas – Findochty, Lennox and Dyke Landward community councils – found themselves short of prospective councillors.

After being allowed to go through the process again that situation has been rectified.

Indeed, Dyke Landward has now gained eight nominations for just seven seats.

This means a public vote will take place.

Postal ballots will be issued by the end of the month to homes in the Dyke Landward area, which includes Dyke, Conicavel, Culbin, Moy, Brodie, Kintessack, Earlsmill, Whitemire and Dounduff.

These must be returned to Moray Council’s election office by 5pm on Wednesday, December 15.

A count will follow the next day.

Elected to Findochty: Iain Addison, Ron Dawson, Caroline Ferguson, John Gardiner, Jeff Masterton, James Murray

Lennox: Pringle George, Leanna Hudson, Paul MacPherson, Roger Austin, Donald Cameron, Jennie Cameron, Alexander Hume
