Childcare course and census opportunities for Moray jobseekers highlighted

OPPORTUNITIES in the childcare sector are at the heart of a new course set to run in Moray next month.

Part of the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) Sector Based Work Academies scheme, a Prepare for Childcare Course is scheduled to run at Moray College UHI on Monday, March 7.

An information session about the course will take place on Tuesday, March 1.

The course runs from 9.30am-2.15pm for four weeks and includes covers a large variety of skills needed to work in the childcare sector.

It also includes emergency first aid and Rehis Food Hygiene certificate training along with talks by local employers.

The course is available to DWP customers and those interested should speak to their work coach in the first instance.

Sector-based work academies help prepare those receiving unemployment benefits to apply for jobs in a different area of work.

Meanwhile, opportunities have become available for DWP customers to join the team working on this year's census.

The DWP are currently engaging with Pertemps, who will deliver information sessions, pre-employment training and Work Experience to support applicants.

The job role is enumerator and the role will be a fixed term contract, part-time job which will run from March 2022 to May 2022, with potential additional shifts in May.

Hours will be 25 per week including travel, varying shifts between 8am and 8pm Monday-Sunday with a combination of daytime, evening, weekend and public holiday working. Flexibility is required.

The hourly rate is £12.52.
