Cancer charity Clan’s classic car and bike Cavalcade rally around Moray and north east of Scotland

Classic car and motorbike drivers are being invited to sign up for Clan Cancer Support’s 2024 Cavalcade.

Participants in the road trip at the end of next month be taking a scenic tour of some of the north-east’s most celebrated glass artists’ businesses and workshops, with pit stops throughout the day.

Julie Ferguson, Clan’s Moray local services co-ordinator said: “Our Cavalcade is one of our fundraising highlights in Moray.

“It’s much loved by the participants and locals who gather every year to see the amazing range of vintage and classic cars on display.

“This year’s glass theme offers a unique opportunity to visit artists and businesses which specialise in working with glass to produce robust and beautiful creations.

“We’re very proud to highlight so many fantastic examples within our local area.

“Demand has already been high for this year’s event, but we still have spaces available to help raise much needed funds for those affected by cancer in the local community, ensuring Clan can provide vital support services to those in need.”

The Glass Tour is taking place on Friday, August 30.

Drivers will set off from Threaplands Garden Centre after breakfast before visiting Leadline Glass Studios in Huntly where artist Shona McInnes specialises in handmade stained-glass creations for clients across the UK.

The tour will also stop at Bennachie Crafts in Insch to see examples of stained-glass art.

The event includes lunch at Lochter Activity centre, Oldmeldrum, as well as visits to SLJ Windows & Doors Ltd, Turriff; Beach Bomber Crafts, Whitehills and Gordon Chapel, Fochabers.

Drivers will then return to Elgin for a two-course meal at The Sunninghill Hotel.

Clan is keen to hear from owners of classic cars and motorcycles who would like to join the tour which will raise awareness and vital funds for the cancer support charity.

A minimum of £50 in sponsorship is requested. Additional fees are required for both meals on the day.
