Moray planning – Bid to reopen chip shop in Findhorn

A bid is being made to turn The Bunty in Findhorn back into the chip shop it formerly was for many years.

Permission is being sought from Moray Council to change the use of the building which stands in the centre of the village, just around the corner from the Crown and Anchor pub.

Following the closure of the Findhorn Pottery Studio and Shop, plans have been submitted to change the building into a chip shop takeaway. Picture: Daniel Forsyth.

The chip shop was a feature in Findhorn from before the Second World War until about ten years ago.

In 2019 it was transformed into Findhorn Pottery by Belia Biesheuvel who has leased the property ever since.

Earlier this month the potter, who was born in the Netherlands but has lived in Moray for more than 30 years, decided to retire.

The present owner is applying for planning permission.
