Attempted murder in Huntly of man aged 52

AN incident in Huntly in which a 52 year old man sustained serious injuries is being treated as attempted murder.

Police closed off an area around Scott Court and Scott Drive late on Friday afternoon following reports of an attack - described locally as a stabbing.

Earlier in the day there had been a serious fire in the garden of a property in the area.

A 42 year old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the attack.

Detective Inspector Sam Buchan said: "We can confirm that a 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder, which took place in the Scott Court area of Huntly at around 4.45pm on Friday, 26 June.

"He is expected to appear in court on Monday, 29 June.

"The victim, a 52-year-old man, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he remains in a serious but stable condition."
