The Youth Arts Small Grants Scheme is part of a Scottish Government Covid-19 funding package to support the arts, administered by Creative Scotland.

This has been been broken down into smaller, localised funding pots with the aim of distributing small grants to freelance creatives to work with children and young people.

Findhorn Bay Arts have been awarded one of these pots which will enable them to distribute £40,000 to local artists/ creative practitioners.

The scheme is aiming to help local artists/creative practitioners develop their own programmes of youth arts activity that engage with a range of local organisations and young people in Moray, especially those most affected by Covid-19.

The fund is open to freelance artists and creative practitioners living and/ or working in Moray and up to 50 miles in neighbouring regions, looking to work directly with children and young people in Moray. It is expected those applying to have strong and appropriate skills in their artform, and experience of working with children and young people.

The fund is not open to applications from organisations, local authorities, groups or clubs.

Applicants can apply for up to £5000 with Findhorn Bay Arts envisaging handing out in the region of 10 awards. All projects must be completed by the end of March 2022.

Applications will go through an assessment and selection process by a panel made up of the Findhorn Bay Arts team, representation from Creative Scotland and local creatives and youth sector partner organisations.

The closing date is Monday, March 1. Successful applications will be announced by Monday, March 29.
