Accident closes A941 between Elgin and Lossiemouth

A road accident has closed the main road between Lossiemouth and Elgin since late on Tuesday evening.

The A941 route is understood to remain closed in both directions following the incident north of Elgin.

Drivers are being diverted away from the area and AA Scotland’s mapping shows that alternative routes are coping well with additional traffic.

Police Scotland has been contacted for further information.

An AA spokeswoman said: “The road is closed due to crash investigation work on the A941, both ways from the Esso garage to Hopeman turn off.

“The road has been closed since around 10:40pm on Tuesday night. Traffic is coping well.”
