ROADWORKS on the A96 that were originally scheduled to be completed overnight will now take place during the day.

Works to improve the pedestrian crossing on the A96 beside Alves Primary School were due to take place between 7pm and 6am each night. However, they are now scheduled to run between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

BEAR Scotland said it had not been possible to programme all noisy operations so that they do not impact residents overnight.

Works have also been pushed back slightly and will now start on Tuesday, May 17, instead of Monday. They are still expected to last two weeks, with no works taking place at the weekends.

Temporary traffic lights and lane closures will be in place during the day and will be removed at night.

Teams are set to conduct minor realignment of the existing uncontrolled pedestrian crossing beside Alves Primary. They are also set to carry out kerbing works and localised resurfacing.
