Medal haul for gymnastics youngsters

Forres Gymnastics ClubFORRES gymnastics club have had medal success at two recent competitions.

The gymnasts travelled to the Highland 2 piece competition in Inverness and the Scottish 2 piece beginners/Intermediate competition in Perth.

In the Highland competition, Kelsey Martin picked up gold in the vault in the 10-11-years advance section.

Pollaidh Astley also secured gold in 10-11-years intermediate floor.

Molly Sinclair won an overall silver for her efforts in the 8-9-year beginners with fellow member Iris Whitton getting overall silver in the 8/9 years intermediates.

In the 12+ years advanced section, Freya Paterson picked up overall bronze.

At the Bells Centre in Perth, head coach Patsy Fraser-McKenzie was pleased with the girls efforts in a very strong field against clubs from all over Scotland.

Kelsey Martin won a bronze medal on vault and overall in the 10-11-years intermediate section.

Kelsey was also part of a bronze medal team in the same age group along side Pollaidh Astley, Holly Cummings, Maisie Craig and Annmarie Taylor.

In the 12+ years intermediate, Abigail Taylor won silver on the vault and Freya Paterson picked up a bronze on floor.

The 12+ years team of Freya Paterson, Abigail Taylor, Lauren Cameron and Libby Gardiner finished in fifth place.
