FORRES schoolchildren are invited to enter a festive art contest before Friday, December 1.
All three local primary schools are taking part in the Forres Youth and Families Outreach Project’s Christmas art competition, split across three age groups: P1 and 2; P3, 4 and 5; P6 and 7, with prizes in each category.
Each school has been given a different part of the journey to Bethlehem to interpret via drawing, painting, collage or any other artistic medium.
Pilmuir is focused on the angel giving the good news to Mary; Anderson’s on the angels giving the good news to the shepherds; and Applegrove on the wise men giving the good news to Herod.
Children not entering via their schools can submit entries to St Leonard’s Church via the side door letter box.
Everyone is welcome to view the entries on display in the church hall over seasonal refreshments on Sunday, December 10 at 2pm. At 2.45pm attendees are invited into the church to take part in a pop-up Nativity - an interactive retelling of the Christmas story with carols and audience participation.
Everyone is invited to attend dressed as a character from the Christmas story, if they wish.
After the Nativity, the prizes for the art competition will be distributed.
