FORRES Community Council (FCC) are looking for new members following another resignation.
Treasurer Heather Shaw has resigned due to personal circumstances, two months after the former chairman Stewart Noble stepped down in October because of disagreements with his fellow councillors.
Mrs Shaw felt she could not carry out her role as a community councillor while dealing with a number of issues at home.
She said: “Recent events in my personal life made me feel that I could no longer do justice to the position.
“My priorities now lie elsewhere and that is why I resigned at the last meeting.”
The Forres Area Credit Union volunteer joined FCC in 2014 and she found the experience very rewarding.
She said: “I have enjoyed being in the company of a number of individuals who have the interests of Forres at heart.
“If community councillors have one thing in common, it is the fact they all have an interest in the local area.
“There must be many like-minded people in Forres who feel the same.
“I say to them, give it a go, it really can be a very worthwhile experience.”
Interim FCC chairman John Guthrie believes Mrs Shaw will be “sorely missed”.
He said: “Heather played an important part in her roles as FCC member and treasurer.
“Her contribution in all matters was clear and well thought-out, and she was always worth listening to, whatever the subject matter.”
FCC member Shaun Moat was unanimously voted into the post of treasurer at the December meeting.
