FORRES Community Council (FCC) is re-grouping following the resignation of the chairman.
Stewart Noble stepped down after disagreements with fellow councillors came to a head during the October meeting in the Tolbooth.
Vice chairman John Guthrie has confirmed the remaining members have been unable to conduct an extraordinary general meeting in the weeks since Mr Noble’s departure, due to work commitments, illness and holidays.
He said: “It is the intention of FCC to continue with the current members until the end of our term of office in September 2017.
“We will decide after the January meeting, who will be the chairman and make any necessary changes to office-bearers at the same time.
“I cannot disclose the reason for Stewart Noble resigning as I do not have the full facts.”
He added: “He will be missed as a force for good for Forres and its people.
“Stewart put in a lot of hours attending meetings and seminars given by other organisations, not only in Forres but also in Moray and wider Scotland.
“FCC wish him all the best for the future.”
