AROUND 150 international staff and students are staying in the Forres area in January.
Audencia Business School attendees from Nantes are amongst the visitors heading to the Glasgow School of Art’s (GSA) Highlands and Islands campus at Blairs Steading on the Altyre Estate for 2018’s winter school.
GSA’s head of Innovation School, Dr Gordon Hush, explained winter school is an opportunity for academics from across the world to collaborate on creative projects embedded in the local community.
He said: “Audencia Business School is partnering with the GSA in a Master’s programme in Management and Entrepreneurship in the Creative Economy. The students are looking forward to meeting Forres area residents, organisations and community groups and getting of flavour of the local hospitality.
“We very much hope that this will be an opportunity for the community to benefit from having such a large group of visitors to the town.”
The group of Masters students and staff from the Business School will join students studying at the Altyre campus and the main campus in Glasgow, and returning academics and students from Koln International School of Design, and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
Visiting lecturers will come from as far afield as Hong Kong and India to the event.
Among the subjects being explored will be cultural entrepreneurship, social enterprise in the Highlands and Islands and future visions for local historic sites.
In exploring these themes, the students will partner with businesses in the Forres area.
