A total of 134 pupils took part in an event held in partnership with Moray Active Schools.

Conditions were perfect for the challenging course which weaved its way around the park, providing spectators with great views of all runners from Alves, Applegrove, Andersons, Drumduan, Dyke, Kinloss, Logie and Pilmuir schools.

Siobhan Evans, one of the Harriers involved in the organisation of the event, was impressed with the enthusiasm of the youngest group of runners in P1 to P3.”It was incredible. They were so inspiring – all 65 of them,” she said.

“Support of parents is vital. Combine that just one enthusiastic person within schools who helps create a team camaraderie and that is what encourages pupils to these events who may never have considered it before.
