Saints took on Fort Augustus in the first round of the senior knockout cup at Fort's Abbey Ground.

After winning the toss, Fort Augustus decided to bat first.

There was some tidy work from the bowlers with Darren Lamb and Russell Ellwood taking three wickets each.

Fort Augustus were kept to 90, which with only nine players was not a bad effort but it was unlikely to prove a match-winning score.

In reply, Pal Dhami and Al Farr opened for Forres, sharing a good opening partnership including a typically brutal 34 off 25 balls for Farr.

Derek Ross showed he can play shots too with a quick 13 before he fell victim to the only β€˜bowled’ of the day.

Asim Ali partnered Dhami to the winning runs and guiding the Saints through to the semi-final of the senior knock out cup in June.

Forres finished on 91-2 off 14.3 overs.

This coming Saturday, Forres will be at home to Nairn in the first league game of the season, starting at noon.
