There was another dramatic week of results in the First and second divisions of the Alexander Wallace (Toyota) leagues.

Leaders Lossie Bowling Club made the short trip to Hopeman looking to make it five wins on the bounce. Mark Thompson got the champions off to a good start winning 14-9, only for Philip McPherson to dominate his game for the host club as they took a 16-shot advantage into the second session.

George Jack and Jutta Hewett won both second session matches for Lossie, but the margin of victory was not enough to overturn the first session deficit as the champions suffered a setback in their penultimate match collecting just the two points with Hopeman taking four points.

After the disappointment of last week, second placed Burghead came out all guns blazing at home to Bishopmill, Cameron Leggat and Rondy Mackenzie in great form as they built up a formidable first session winning margin.

There was to be no let-up in the second session with David Ross and Ryan Gordon both powering to victory as Burghead claim top spot and a three-point advantage with one game to play in their quest for a league and cup double.

Moray BC hosted Fochabers with Keith Lambert giving the visitors a three-shot advantage after the first session. Both teams won a game in the second session with Fochabers claiming a four-shot overall victory.

Alves dominated their match at home to Forres Royal British Legion, all four triples winning convincingly as Forres drop into the second relegation spot.

Lhanbryde clinched the second division championship with a hard fought four-shot victory at home to Fogwatt with Andrew Furr’s margin of victory cancelling out Fogwatt’s two wins with the fourth game finishing all square.

There's all to play for in the second automatic promotion spot with only two points separating second placed Birnie and fourth placed Duffus while Forres Victoria made a significant move into third spot thanks to an impressive victory at home to Lossiemouth.

With Birnie at home to champions Lhanbryde and Forres hosting Duffus in the final games, it's all set up for a grandstand finish.
