The Ando Glaso Collective will be performing authentic Gypsy music at the Universal Hall in Findhorn next week.

The group brings together some of the best musicians from Scotland’s Romanian, Polish, Slovak, Czech and Hungarian Roma communities.

Peter Vallance, who’s artistic director at Universal Hall Promotions, says “Throughout Europe the Roma travellers, like the Scottish travellers, are guardians of an ancient artistic legacy in music story and song.

“Musicians have always been travellers and we are excited to present on stage a vibrant celebration by the Ando Glaso Collective whose presence in Scotland is enriching and complementing our traditions.”

Founded in 2019, the group has previously performed at Celtic Connections, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Perth Concert Hall and the Scots Fiddle Festival, and were Glasgow Life’s Artists in Residence for Southside Central in 2021.

As Roma communities remain largely isolated both from mainstream society and each other, the collective’s unique collaboration is said to be just as musically exciting for the group as it is for the audience.

The Ando Glaso Collective will be performing from 7.30pm on Friday, April 19.

Tickets can be booked in advance HERE, bought in person from The Phoenix Shop, Findhorn, or purchased from the box office on the night.
