Fire, police and ambulance attended a fire in a home on Urquhart Street, Forres

A MAN was taken to hospital following a fire in the centre of Forres on Tuesday evening.

All three emergency services attended Urquhart Street following calls about a fire in a home.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 7.31pm on Tuesday, April 9 to attend an incident on Urquhart Street.

“An ambulance was dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to Dr Gray’s Hospital.”

South Street was cordoned off from the roundabout to High Street while the incident was dealt with.

Police Scotland confirmed they also received a report of a fire at property on Urquhart Street.
A spokesperson said: “A 34-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment and later released.
“Officers are working with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to establish the cause.”
