Well-known for attracting large audiences, the charismatic American has played in most of the world's top concert venues, including London's Royal Albert Hall and New York's Carnegie Hall. Worldwide press reviews have been unstinting in their praise of his unique performances. Not only has he been dubbed "the Pavarotti of the organ", but the South China Post reported, "He is a masterful interpreter... a musician of great integrity". Carlo Curley's self-proclaimed mission is to "establish the organ at the forefront of musical instruments, even if it takes the rest of my life".

"For a world-class musician like Carlo Curley to come and perform in Forres is a tremendous coup for our church and the town," said St Leonard's session clerk, Roy Anderson. "We hope to attract people not only from all over Moray, but also from Inverness and Easter Ross in the west to Aberdeenshire in the east and beyond.

"We have taken a deliberate decision to keep the price of tickets at a very reasonable level in order to allow as many people as possible to hear what promises to be a marvellous concert. The church can seat around 900 people, and we hope that it will be bursting at the seams on the night. Folk are advised to come early, as seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The performance will also be captured on camera and projected onto two large screens on either side of the pulpit."

Tickets for the concert - priced £10 for adults and £5 for children under 16 - are now on sale from Mackenzie and Grant, Solicitors and Estate Agents, in High St, Forres or by contacting Christine Andrew on 01309 673728 or e-mailing alec.andrew@btinternet.com

"We are also sending booking forms to all arts and musical groups, as well as churches and schools, across the wider catchment area," said Mr Anderson.

"The programme for the concert will not be revealed in advance, as Carlo likes to tailor each performance exclusively to that particular venue and audience. He also likes to interact personally with each audience in his own inimitable style and meet and greet people before and after the performance."

To add a local flavour to the show, Anderson's Primary School Choir from Forres will also be performing, as will renowned instrumental quartet, 4 in a Bar.
