A team of four from the masters squad - Alan Tomson, Karen McBeath, Nicci Maasdorp and Callum McBeath - competed in Aberdeen at the Silver City Blues masters annual swimming event.

They put in excellent performances and did especially well in the team events where they got gold in the freestyle relay as well as silver in the medley relay.

However, it was the individual success of one of the elites that caused most excitement around the club.

McBeath was in exceptional form in the 400 freestyle event. She also broke the Scottish record for her age group in a time of five minutes and 21 seconds.

McBeath is a seasoned swimmer and squad coach for the young Seals swimmers in the club. Swimmers and their parents are excited to be trained by a Scottish record holder and the club is now inviting more people to come along and benefit from her skills and experience.

The Bluefins club is open to anyone aged seven years and over. For more information visit www.forresbluefns or the Bluefins Facebook page.
